Miriam Aronson

Miriam Aronson and Jeff Aronson are the authors of the popular Little Mike and Maddie children's book series about a lovable pair of dogs and their motorcycle adventures.  Jeff Aronson also worked side-by-side with artist Jay Zephyr to create the colorful and distinctive illustrations.  Visit their website  to join in the fun and ride along with Little Mike and Maddie.  

 Laurie Brown

Laurie has a wonderful friend, Jillian the Book Fairy, who loves to visit schools and libraries. She spreads her fairy dust any where you can find books, so you will always have great books to read. She is a storyteller and children's entertainer dedicated to bringing the magic of books to children everywhere.  The Book Fairy has visits schools and has been a special guest at the Texas Book Festival for the past few years. Pam Calvert
Pam Calvert writes children's books and stories from her home in Del Rio, Texas. She currently has two, math adventure picture books coming out with Charlesbridge Publishing and an emergent that was released Fall 2003 entitled, The Mat Maker, by Seedling Publications. She also has written stories for Highlights, Guideposts for Kids, Nature Friend Magazine and many others. She loves to answer questions about writing. Peggy Caravantes
 
Peggy Caravantes writes young adult biographies and teacher resource materials. An educator, as well as an author, she has experience with research, curriculum development, teacher preparation, and school administration.

  • Bobbi Chukran
  • Bobbi has over 23 years experience in freelance writing and is the author of thirteen books. She has written for national craft, garden and herb magazines as well. Her website focuses on her Wildest Dreams Designs for holidays.

    Marilyne Cizmich
  • Marilyne's first picture book, Sonia, the Church Cat, is set in Ukraine where she spent a sabbatical year.  Her second book in this series, How Cora Lost Her Horn, has recently been released.  She speaks, reads and does a show-and-tell about Ukraine.  Check her website for upcoming book signings.


  • Stephan Cosgrove
    Stephen is the author of over 300 books from picture books to young adult novels. Noted most for his creation of the ward-winning Serendipity Series (Penguin Group US), Stephen is currently embroiled in his Literacy Through Listening Project, KidTalk Radio

  •  Lupe Flores
  • The author of The Woodcutter's Gift/El regalo del lenador, and Lupita's Papalote/El papalote de Lupita has also had poetry published in anthologies. She has a MA in Computer Resources & Information Management. In 2003, she received Honorable Mention in the Eileen Egan Journalism Award contest sponsored by Catholic Relief Services and the Catholic Press Association while working as a staff writer for a local newspaper. The author freelances for Guideposts magazine. She likes to travel, pattern draft (which she learned in Okinawa), visit the local museums, and wander through the Spanish missions in San Antonio. Visiting with her children and grandchildren top her list. She is currently working on a YA novel.

     
    Peni R. Griffin
  • On her website Peni writes: "I sold my first short story in 1986, and my first book, to Margaret K. McElderry, in 1989. The audience I aim for, generally, is myself at age ten. I have known seven year olds who read my books with pleasure, and fourteen year olds who found them too hard. Children demand better books than adults do, so I try to answer the demand. The world is so full of stories, I will never be able to tell them all. But I'm trying." She is the author of many award winning books.

    Kristi Holl is an award-winning author of 27 books for children, one nonfiction book for writers, and over 150 stories and articles for children and adults, as well as conference speaker and web editor.

     
    Janet Kaderli
    Janet wrote her first poem in second grade and has been writing ever since. Janet's had four children's books published: Molasses Cookies, 1998, Hendrick-Long Publishing (middle-grade), Many Places and So Many Places to Go, 2001, Steck-Vaughn (these are educational resource books for PreK/K), and the sequel to Molasses Cookies, Patchwork Trail, published in 2005. All Janet's books reflect the importance of close family relationships and strong family values. Janet enjoys visiting schools and other groups to tell about her books and to encourage fellow writers of all ages.
    Christine Kohler
  • Christine Kohler is the author of a series of picture story books published by Concordia Publishing House and nonfiction books published Harcourt, Zondervan and BibleVision. For 22 years Kohler has worked as professional writer, reporter, editor, and taught English and journalism. She is an instructor for the Children's Institute of Literature.   •  Catherine Stier
    Catherine Stier's acclaimed, presidential-themed picture books, If I Were President and If I Ran for President won her a most exciting invitation - as a guest author at Mount Rushmore's Independence Day celebration!  Stier is also the author of Bugs in My Hair?! and an upcoming, contemporary, middle-grade novel (all published by Albert Whitman & Company).  Stier has served as a newspaper columnist and feature writer, a regular contributor to Woman's Day magazine, and a writing instructor.  She visits schools and libraries with her lively "If I Were President" presentatation.  Contact her at info@catherinestier.com
