Marie Ferrante has illustrated several educational workbooks and activity books for young children including "Felt Crafts" and "Kids Make Magic" both published by award winning Williamson Publishing. She has also illustrated "Science Is Simple" and "Simple Transitions for Infants and Toddlers" (2004) by Gryphon House Publishing. Her illustrations were done by hand, then scanned and shaded/textured on a Macintosh. She has also designed and produced over 20 published educational/craft covers and 3 educational/craft book interiors for Williamson Publishing in addition to 4 paperback novel covers for TurnKey Press. She lives in San Antonio, Texas with her two biggest fans, her sons. Carol Parker
Carol Parker is a painter and printmaker who is new to children's illustration. She earned her M.F.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her B.S. in Art Education from Western Michigan University. Her artwork has recently been exhibited at The Minnesota Center for Book Arts, and at Blue Star Gallery in San Antonio, Texas. The Flaxman Library at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Kohler Art Library at the University of Wisconsin hold copies of her hand-printed books in their collections. She has also been published in several exhibition catalogs and in Dog-Eared Magazine: Pop Ups and Sculptural Books. Carol currently teaches Drawing and Design at a private school in San Antonio, Texas, where she lives with her husband and three cats. Heather Powers - Regional Advisor
Heather studied Fine Art painting, drawing and drawing Kendall College of Art & Design where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. She lives and works in San Antonio, Texas. She writes, "My printmaking adds to the bold lines and stained glass colors of my work with the swirls and energy of the carving process. Vivid color, flattening space and simplifying figures are the hallmarks of my style."
